St. Michael’s Convent, Ham

The Sisters at St Michael's Convent are involved in religious education in its widest sense.  Alongside daily worship and intercession, many individuals and groups are welcomed for retreats and for a quiet venue for their own study, space, creativity or training. We offer residential accommodation for these as well as opportunities for people to come by the day.  Local Community Services often use our Conference Area for their Training Workshops.  Individuals come for Spiritual Direction, counselling or simply to have time apart and meet informally with the Sisters. 

The garden is a great outreach, as are also the Friday lectures. The weekly DEEEP SEA offers facilities for creativity, taken up by a number of people.  The annual Advent Meditation attracts a large number of people and we are able to raise money for other charities through that.  We have a Peace and Justice notice board and regular leaflets, appreciated by many of our guests.  'Tea and Toast' are offered at the door twice a day, seven days a week, and low-income people and wayfarers take advantage of that. 

Sisters also go outside the house to do principally voluntary work, though some work is paid. We have connections with local parishes, work with the Church for the Deaf, and pastoral visiting.  Sisters also give talks, preach and lead Quiet Days, both outside and inside the house.

From Richmond:

Bus No. 65 (towards Kingston) from outside Richmond station to Ham Gate Avenue.

From Kingston: 

Bus No. 65 (towards Ealing Broadway or Brentford) from the centre of Kingston to Ham Gate Avenue, 65 Bus Stop (for those coming from Kingston)

By car:

We are on the A307 between Richmond and Kingston-upon-Thames.
